Patience is Key

I’ve now been photographing families for 13 years, and over that time I’ve learnt that the key to capturing real moments, and winning little people over, is patience.

Being a SEN mum has also given me a greater understanding of how important this is, and that some kids need a little bit of extra time and space. Having a stranger in your home can be scary, but I try and keep things as relaxed and calm as possible.

I have to go into each session with zero expectations, and let the family, and their mini humans, take the lead. If something isn’t working then we will change tactics. It’s really no big deal.

Every session, and family, is totally different. But that’s what makes it fun!
